The president encouraged us

On April 18th, Takashi Matsuoka, the president of Doshisha University in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, came to our activity room where we usually held a meeting.

He was all ears to what we said about our activities, and he kindly advised us.

Above all he said, “it is important for you to reflect what you want to learn through the summit. Learning something outside your field and exchanging opinions among almost the same generation as you will broaden your perspective. Working actively in global society requires leadership in creating new value, as well as the ability to form a consensus through discussion beyond cultural and historical boundaries. I want you to develop from your own this experience. And then I am looking forward to see how the summit will grow by your efforts.”

After listening to him, we became more and more motivated.

It is our belief that all the participants in the summit can be happy with the results after the summit. We will try to do our best!
